Last year AIFA did some research on the financial affairs of professional rugby league players by interviewing past players Gene Miles, Joel Caine, various staff members from the Melbourne Storm and former coach and renowned journalist Roy Masters.
The research revealed that whilst on the playing field players stuck to a structured game plan, off the field they had no game plan for their money. From the research we compiled a report titled “Hanging up the Boots” to help rugby league players (and all sportsmen and women for that matter) focus on a game plan for their money.
